This is a small module designed to output 5.4v at up to 500mA for use with a pack of four 1.5v alkaline or lithium cells when replacing battery packs in vintage equipment which used mercury cells, typically a pack of four which would output a stable 5.4v.
Features:
The extremely low quiescent current means that the regulator can be left connected to the battery pack when the equipment is turned off or drawing no current with little effect on the life of the batteries.
Note that the input voltage range and output current are absolute maximum values: this module is intended for use where the input voltage is close to the required output voltage. If using the module with continuously higher input voltages and/or output currents, additional cooling will be required.
The approximate continuous dissipation the module can handle without additional cooling is 500mW
